We have been experiencing a quick change scam artist in the area.
The offender is a M/B approximately 40 years of age. The offender will
purchase an inexpensive item using a $50 or $100 bill. He will then say
that he played with the wrong bill and will want to exchange the change
(plus a few dollars) for the $100 bill back. After he gets the $100 bill
back he will ask for it to be cashed so he can for cash to put in a birthday
card. During this process at some point he is able switch the money and
leave the business with a $100 loss. To avoid this from happening to your
business, make it policy to not accept certain denominations of currency or
to not make change for large bills.
